7th Meeting of the BM@N Collaboration

News, 26 April 2021

On April 19-20, a meeting of the BM@N Collaboration of the NICA mega-science project was held in a mixed format: offline in the Conference Hall of the Laboratory of High Energy Physics of JINR and online for external participants. 13 reports were presented at the plenary sessions, and 25 presentations were given at three parallel sections of detectors, data analysis and the experiment software.

The preparation status of the BM@N detectors and the Booster-Nuclotron acceleration system for runs with medium and heavy ion beams, which are planned to be performed starting from 2022, was discussed. The preparation for the run on the study of short-range correlations of nucleons, scheduled for the end of 2021, was also considered in detail.

The results of the analysis of the BM@N experimental data on the production of Λ hyperons, charged pions and kaons, and nuclear fragments in the interactions of carbon and argon ion beams with target nuclei were presented at the meeting.
