High state Russian awards for JINR scientists

Subsequent to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 24 January 2018 № 21 «On decorating with the state awards of the Russian Federation» the following scientists were awarded for their contribution to science development and longstanding hard work:

The Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, 1st class

  • BUDAGOV Yulian Aramovich, Chief Researcher of the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems JINR;
  • DMITRIEV Sergei Nikolaevich, Director of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions JINR;
  • KEKELIDZE Vladimir Dimitrievich, Director of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics;
  • KRASAVIN Evgeny Aleksandrovich, Director of the Laboratory of Radiation Biology JINR.

The Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, 2nd class

  • GOLUTVIN Igor Anatolievich, Chief Researcher of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR;
  • NIKITIN Vladimir Alekseevich, Chief Researcher of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR;
  • SAVIN Igor Alekseevich, Honorary Director of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR.

The Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” is a state award of the Russian Federation. It was established on 2 March 1994 by Presidential Decree №442. New Regulation for the medal was adopted by Presidential Decree №554 on 1 June 1995.

The Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” is awarded to citizens for fulfillment of particular advantageous for the state tasks in various fields of industry and agriculture, construction and transport, science and education, health care and culture, and other areas of work.

The medal has two degrees: the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the first class and the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the second class.

The motto of the Order is «Benefit, Honour and Glory».
