Gravitational waves and their role in modern physics. Lecture 3

Seminars

The Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics invites everyone interested to the third lecture from a series “Gravitational waves and their role in modern physics”.

Date and Time: Monday, 19 December 2022, at 2:00 PM

Venue: Blokhintsev Lecture Hall (4th floor), Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics

Topic: “Gravitational waves and their role in modern physics”

Speakers: Anton Baushev, Evgeny Davydov

Abstract:

The third lecture will be devoted to gravitational shockwaves and gravitational bursts. It will be discussed what objects can be sources of such waves, the possibilities of direct detection, and observation of accompanying effects such as gravitational memory.
