Applications invited for AYSS JINR grants and scholarships for 2027

The Association of Young Scientists and Specialists (AYSS) of JINR invites young employees of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research to participate in competitions for grants and scholarships for 2027.

AYSS Grants

The grant programme is aimed at encouraging young Institute’s researchers. It helps develop skills in planning scientific activities, enhance competencies in preparing grant applications, and contributes to professional growth and research results.

Participation requirements:

• conducting research activities on the topics of the JINR Topical Plan;
• age under 36 years (as of 31 December 2026);
• being a young scientist, specialist, or employee of the laboratories or offices and departments of the Institute.

Application deadline is 23:59 (MSK) on 11 November 2026.

AYSS Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded to encourage young JINR employees for successful results of work carried out in the year preceding the competition.

Participation requirements:

• being a technician, an engineer, a specialist, or a worker;
• age under 36 years (as of the application deadline).
• working in the JINR Offices and Departments, with JINR being the primary place of employment.

AYSS Travel Grants

The new initiative is designed to help young employees establish scientific connections, present research to a wide range of colleagues, and exchange useful experience.

Financial support is provided for travel to Russian and international scientific conferences, schools, and workshops, strictly corresponding to the applicant’s activity profile.

Participation requirements:

• being a JINR employee (the Institute must be the primary place of employment);
• age under 36 years (as of the application deadline).
