On 10 March 2017, the elections of the Chairman of the AYSS Council were held at a General meeting of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR, which was held in the Big conference hall of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics JINR. According to the agenda prior to this acting Chairman of the Association V. Chudoba made a report on the AYSS activities in 2016.
The elections were recognized as valid, A.Yu. Verkheev was elected as Chairman of the AYSS Council. The membership of the AYSS Council was approved in the following composition: A.A. Aparin, A.S. Bogomolova, A.Yu. Verkheev, E.M. Gazeeva, S.Y. Severyukhin, S.G. Torosyan, M.V. Fomina, A.V. Friesen, I.A. Chuprakov.
