CQIS-2017: in memory of Ludvig Faddeev

News, 21 July 2017

The 11th International Conference «Classical and Quantum Integrable Systems» (CQIS-2017) starts on 24 July 2017 in the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics JINR. The present Conference devoted to the memory of an outstanding Soviet and Russian theoretical physicist and mathematician, one of the founding fathers of modern mathematical physics, Academician of the Russia Academy of Sciences Ludvig Dmitrievich Faddeev (23 March 1934 — 26 February 2017).

The Conferewnce is organized by the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics (JINR, Dubna) and the International Laboratory of Representation Theory and Mathematical Physics (Higher School of Economics, Moscow).

The main topics of the conference include: recent results in classical and quantum integrable models; quantum field theory, conformal field theory, AGT correspondence; quantum groups, cluster algebras, and other mathematics related to integrable systems; integrable probability and asymptotic representation theory. The Ludwig Faddeev memorial session will be also held in the frames of the Conference.

The decision to establish a new medal for achievements in the fields of quantum theory named after Ludwig Faddeev was announced on 11 August 2016. For the first time such a prestigious international award in physics awarded by foreign scientific organizations was named after Russian scientist.
