Points of Contact public talk about science and art to take place in Dubna

On 28 May 2026, the Points of Contact public talk featuring Yuri Oganessian and Francisco Infante, as well as a solo concert by Vladimir Martynov, will take place at the JINR Mir Cultural Centre. The event is organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in collaboration with the Veretevo Art Estate as part of The ArteFacts of Francisco InFante exhibition at the JINR Gallery. The admission is free.

At 18:00, the scientist after whom element 118 of the Mendeleev table is named, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Oganessian, a contemporary art luminary, creator of the artefact Francisco Infante, and composer, philosopher Vladimir Martynov will discuss the search for infinity, the nature of creativity, and ways of understanding the world. Art historian, Veretevo Art Director Irina Gorlova will moderate the meeting.

At 19:40, a concert by outstanding Russian composer, musicologist, philosopher Vladimir Martynov will start. Music that unites tradition and modernity, spiritual experience and experiment, will become a continuation of the conversation about the nature of creativity, time, and human’s place in the Universe.
