Results of competition “Letter to the scientist”

News, 12 October 2021

Communication through letters is thoughtful and romantic. It requires getting thoughts together, thinking thoroughly before writing (it is impossible to correct what has already been written, as in an e-mail), choosing a good moment, and only then putting your hand to paper. Then, you seal a letter in an envelope, attach nice stamps, send it by mail, and wait for an answer.

This time, the sacred answer could be received from a physicist, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Tsolakovich Oganessian, to whom competitors had sent letters as part of the creative competition “Letter to the scientist”. The Big Break project together with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research ran this competition.
