In the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the Programme Advisory Committee for Condensed Matter Physics approved a new theme “Development of the Conceptual Design of a New Advanced Neutron Source at JINR”. This project is of crucial importance for world science: a reactor or a reactor with an accelerator that will be supposed to outmatch similar facilities. According to experts, it will have a tenfold advantage in comparison to the best European projects existing today.
