JINR and MIPT enhance cooperation

On 15 July 2020, Vice-Rector and Acting Director of Landau Phystech School of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) A. A. Voronov visited JINR.

During the visit, accompanied by Head of the MIPT Department of Fundamental and Applied Problems of Microworld, RAS Corresponding Member D. I. Kazakov, Deputy Heads of the Department S. Z. Pakuliak and G. A. Shelkov, the guest was acquainted with the objects of the JINR scientific infrastructure, including the NICA accelerator complex under construction and the site for the production of superconducting magnets in VBLHEP, the Superheavy Element Factory and the FLNR basic facility, namely the DC-280 cyclotron, as well as the site for assembling detectors of the deep underwater neutrino telescope Baikal-GVD and the laboratory of X-ray microtomography in DLNP.

The key objective of the visit was to discuss the issues of training highly qualified scientific and engineering employees at MIPT for the implementation of the JINR large-scale scientific projects. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation, as well as further steps in the fields of the staff training and attracting MIPT students to work at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The participants paid special attention to work with junior-year student of MIPT.
