The most distant division of JINR, located in «Professor’s corner» situated in one of the most popular Crimean resorts Alushta, the Resort Hotel «Dubna» celebrated its 50th anniversary. The festive event was attended by staff members of the Resort Hotel and guests among which were representatives of administrations of sister cities Dubna and Alushta, a JINR delegation headed by JINR Chief Engineer Boris Gikal, which included representatives of the JINR Directorate, JINR Offices and Departments, leaders of national groups of the JINR Member States.

In his welcoming speech Boris Gikal briefly recalled the history of the Resort Hotel, which began with the decision of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries in 1961 on the establishment of a vacation retreat for employees of the Institute on the shore of the Black sea; then it continued in 1967, when the first guests –JINR staff members arrived in the newly constructed four-storeyed building. Nowadays the Resort Hotel is not only a place of rest for JINR staff members. Today it is a large conference center, where JINR holds scientific conferences, as well as schools for young scientists; it is a favorite holiday destination for both leading scientists and young researchers. The next part of the speech of the JINR delegation head was devoted to the history and current status of the Joint Institute, which last year celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Mayor of Alushta presented honorary certificates of the leadership of the city to staff members of the Resort Hotel «Dubna», Director of the Resort Hotel Mikhail Kazarinov, Assistant Director of the Resort Hotel Sergey Maslichenko and a number of employees who have distinguished themselves in work. JINR Chief Engineer Boris Gikal and Deputy Director of the JINR Human Resources & Innovation Development Office Natalia Lenskaya presented JINR honorary certificates to staff members of the Resort Hotel. Director of the Resort Hotel «Dubna» M.Yu. Kazarinov was awarded a Diploma of Honorary Staff Member of JINR. V.P. Nikolaev presented an honorary certificate of the Russian Trade Union of Nuclear Industry and Energy to M.Yu. Kazarinov.

Director of the Resort Hotel «Dubna» M.Yu. Kazarinov thanked the guests for participation in the celebration, the JINR Directorate, the City Administrations of Dubna and Alushta for their high appreciation of the work of the Resort Hotel. He especially thanked the veterans – “people who not just established this resort hotel by their labour, but determined a high level of service that we strive to keep and enhance”. A number of veterans were awarded a commendation at the festive meeting.

Chairman of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR Aleksandr Verkheev presented a video made by his colleagues to express their warmest attitude towards the Resort Hotel «Dubna» and congratulated its staff members in a bright way.

A concert of masters of arts of the Crimean State Philharmonic was given to participants of the festive event.
