In 2025, the Institute reached many scientific milestones. For the first time, a heavy xenon ion beam was injected into the NICA Collider at the Laboratory of High Energy Physics. Preparations continued at the Superheavy Element Factory for the synthesis of elements 119 and 120 of Mendeleev’s Periodic Table. Scientists at the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions registered three events of the 282Nh isotope synthesis. After a three-year shutdown, the unique IBR-2M Fast Neutron Reactor resumed operation at the Laboratory of Neutron Physics, opening new opportunities for researchers.
