A delegation of employees from the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and the Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research participated in the 51st Vietnam Conference on Theoretical Physics (VCTP-51). In 2026, the event took place from 3 to 6 August in the city of Nha Trang. It brought together over 170 participants from China, Germany, India, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
The scientific programme included a wide range of studies in high energy, nuclear and condensed matter physics, as well as cosmology. The presentations discussed physics beyond the Standard Model, molecular physics, quantum optics and quantum information, biomaterials and biomolecules, and much more.
JINR employees gave ten plenary and sectional talks on all the topics of the conference. Among the invited speakers were BLTP JINR Director, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dmitry Kazakov, leading BLTP researcher Victor Yushankhai, and senior MLIT JINR researcher Liudmila Sulyakshina. Leading researcher Alexander Gusev (MLIT JINR), leading researcher Anton Baushev, senior researcher Georgy Kalagov, researcher Adila Afzal, junior researcher Vu Dong Chan, and research interns Vladislav Filippov and Nikita Moiseev (BLTP JINR) made presentations on their studies.
The VCTP-51 conference was organized by the Institute of Physics of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (IOP-VAST) under the auspices of the Vietnamese Theoretical Physical Society, with support from the IOP-VAST International Centre of Physics and the Asia-Pacific Centre for Theoretical Physics (Pohang, Korea).
