On 15 April 2026, the international educational seminar entitled “Scientific Russia through the eyes of young people from abroad: popularising Russian research through digital media” took place at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. In Dubna, students and young scientists from 24 countries exchanged unique experience in creating science communication and educational content for social networks and other media platforms. The event was organized by the International Centre for Innovations in Science, Technology and Education together with Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education and JINR with Gorchakov Fund‘s support.
The participants were more than 30 young specialists from countries of Africa, Asia, Middle East, and CIS undergoing training or pursuing scientific endeavours at universities and organization in the territory of the Russian Federation.
The programme focused on mastering modern tools and formats for popularising scientific knowledge in the digital environment. During the event, participants acquired practical skills in creating content about scientific achievements and technological developments. The format of open dialogue allowed young specialists to work on their own media projects, exchange experience, and establish new professional contacts for future collaboration.
An important strategic task of the seminar was developing science communication skills among the students. It is expected that the skills acquired by the participants can be applied in the creation of content about Russia’s scientific projects and research infrastructure in their native languages. Publishing these materials on local media platforms and in social networks will not only broaden the international audience’s understanding of Russia’s scientific and technological potential but also contribute to promoting science in the global information space.
The participants highly appreciated the level of organization of the seminar, emphasising that the event became an important stage in their professional and creative development.
