Winter meeting of PAC for Condensed Matter Physics

A regular, the 56th meeting of the Programme Advisory Committee for Condensed Matter Physics of JINR will take place on 17 – 18 January at the JINR International Conference Centre chaired by Dénes Lajos Nagy. He will open the event by presenting information on the implementation of the recommendations of the previous PAC CMP meeting.

JINR Vice Director Latchesar Kostov will present information on the Resolution of the 132nd session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2022) and on the decisions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States (November 2022).

FLNP Director Valery Shvetsov will report on the status of the IBR-2 Reactor in the framework of the new Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR. Chief Engineer of the IBR-2 Facility Andrey Dolgikh will present to the participants of the event the tasks and prospects for the operation of the IBR-2 Reactor.

Reports will be made on the themes to be included in the Topical Plan for JINR Research and International Cooperation in 2024. The status and prospects of the MLIT and DLNP scientific programmes will be reported on by MLIT Scientific Secretary Olga Derenovskaya and DLNP Deputy Director of Science Vladimir Glagolev.

Elena Zavyalova will present to the meeting participants a scientific report “Diagnostics of socially significant diseases using affine track membranes modified with DNA aptamers”.

Within the programme of the event, there will be a meeting of the PAC CMP members with the Institute’s Directorate and poster presentations by young scientists.

Drafting the PAC recommendations including proposals for the next PAC meeting will conclude the event.
