Ambassador of Bolivia visited JINR

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in the Russian Federation Alex Diaz Mamani visited JINR on 7 February 2017. The Ambassador was acquainted with the multimedia presentation of JINR in the Visit Centre; he visited the complex of the Superconducting Collider NICA which is being developed and met with JINR Director RAS Academician V.A. Matveev.

The meeting with the JINR Director was attended by Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department D.V. Kamanin, UC Director S.Z. Pakuliak, and FLNP Deputy Director O. Culicov. The parties exchanged opinions on establishing of scientific and technical cooperation. The Bolivian side affirmed its interest in cooperation with JINR on personnel training to develop nuclear physics and nuclear energy. During the visit, practical scenarios for professional training of Bolivian specialists in Dubna were considered. The parties expressed their intention to prepare in the foreseeable future a document governing the participation of Bolivian scientists in JINR research and developments and expressed hope for successful cooperation.

The visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Alex Diaz Mamani is a continuation of contacts established with the Government of Bolivia with JINR on 20 January 2017, when the Institute was visited by the delegation headed by Vice-Minister for energy and alternative sources of energy of Bolivia Joaquín Rodríguez. The first contact of JINR and the Embassy of Bolivia took place in March 2014, when Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bolivia Maria Luisa Ramos Urzagaste came to Dubna on the delegation of Ambassadors of Latin American countries.
