Guest meeting of the Committee of the RF Federation Council

On 23 October 2020, the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture jointly with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will hold a guest meeting in Dubna on the topic “Main fields of and prospects for the development of international scientific and technical cooperation in the framework of the implementation of the Strategy of the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation”.

Participants are also going to discuss the issues of the development and efficient use of the scientific and technical potential of Russian science cities.

The event will be attended by Speaker of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova, Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrei Travnikov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Lyulin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Oksana Tarasenko, Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Victor Matveev, JINR First Vice-Director Grigory Trubnikov, Director General of the Special Economic Zone “Dubna” Anton Afanasiev, representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, executive authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation and Russian science cities, heads of universities and scientific organizations.

The two-day visit of the delegation of the Federation Council Committee to the science city of Dubna will start on 22 October with an introduction to the Joint Institute. The representatives of the Federation Council will get acquainted with major fields of the JINR activities and objects of its scientific infrastructure during visits to the Laboratory of High Energy Physics and the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions. The programme also includes a meeting with young scientists of the Joint Institute. On the second day of the visit, the delegation will have an excursion to the Satellite Communications Center (SCC) “Dubna” after the meeting of the Committee.
