Nuclear Physics for Cultural Heritage Research

Today, on 16 December, a two-day International workshop on the use of nuclear physics methods for cultural heritage research has started at the Joint Institute.

FLNP Director V. N. Shvetsov welcomed participants of the workshop in the JINR Scientists’ Club and gave start to the meeting with his report “Opportunities of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics”.

The scientific programme of the workshop will cover priority areas in the study of cultural heritage using nuclear physics methods, prospects and opportunities for the development of nuclear physical methods for the study of cultural heritage objects. The workshop also aims to coordinate and integrate the work of research groups in the field of humanities and natural sciences.
