On 18 April 2026, the eleventh Days of Physics festival took place at the JINR Mir Cultural Centre. The event was organized by the JINR University Centre with the support of Dubna State University, Kadyshevsky Physics and Mathematics Lyceum, and “Dubna” Moscow Region Polytechnic College.
This year, the festival gathered more than 200 children, their parents, and relatives. The programme of the event included nine physics and engineering workshops, an interactive show with liquid nitrogen, and an open physics demonstration area. The young participants measured the acceleration of free fall, studied levitation, designed airplanes, controlled robots, learned how to transmit electricity without wires, and observed the processes of the micro and macro worlds.
The programme included the finals of the Moscow Region Intellectual Marathon, a team competition for 5th—6th grade students. The qualifying rounds took place from October 2025 to January 2026 at five venues in the region. In the finals, the 12 best teams met to solve difficult tasks in physics, mathematics, computer science, and biology in a limited time. The prizes were distributed as follows:
- the first place was shared by teams of the Dmitrov Logos Gymnasium and Dmitrov Engineering School;
- the second place was taken by a team of Yakhroma secondary school No. 2;
- the third place was shared by students of the Kadyshevsky Lyceum and the second team of the Dmitrov Logos Gymnasium.
The Days of Physics festival once again proved that the complex world of science can be truly fascinating and accessible. The sincere interest of the young participants is the main goal of the event and the best confirmation that science remains appealing.
