Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On 16 December, the Republic of Kazakhstan, a JINR Member State, celebrates one of its main national holidays, the Independence Day.

The JINR-Kazakhstan cooperation has a long and successful history. As part of the USSR, the Republic of Kazakhstan joined the Institute from the very moment of JINR foundation in 1956. Since 1992, Kazakhstan has been cooperating with the Joint Institute as an independent state.

Scientists of the republic are engaged in scientific work in all the JINR laboratories, take an active part in the flagship megascience projects of the Institute. The community of Kazakhstani young scientists and specialists is one of the biggest in JINR.

On 10-11 November 2023, a session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States took place in Almaty. Following the results of the session, the CP JINR approved the presented Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2024–2030. On 11 November, within the guest CP JINR session, a new cloud computing cluster of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was launched and a festive opening ceremony of the tenth JINR Information Centre took place at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Directorate of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research congratulates the Kazakhstani employees of JINR and their family members on the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and wishes them good health, happiness, welfare, good luck, and fruitful work for the benefit of science and progress.
