Meetings of JINR Governing Bodies

From 21 to 23 March 2024, the JINR International Conference Centre will host sessions of the Governing Bodies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research: the Finance Committee (FC) and the Committee of Plenipotentiaries (CP) of the Governments of the JINR Member States. The participants will discuss changes in the rules of the JINR FC and JINR CP procedures, as well as amendments to the Regulation on the elections of Directors and the endorsed appointments of Deputy Directors of the JINR laboratories. They will also be informed about the progress in the creation of a List of JINR Officials. The members of both Governing Bodies will receive reports on the draft of the revised budget of JINR for 2024.

The session of the JINR Finance Committee will take place on Thursday, 21 March. JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov will start the meeting with a report on the Institute’s activities. Head of the Budget and Economic Policy Department Nikolay Kalinin will give a talk on the execution of the JINR budget for 2023 and draft of the revised budget of JINR for 2024. JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov will report on the choice of an accounting firm for the audit of the JINR financial activity in 2023. Yerzhan Mukhamedzhanov, Chairman of the Working Group on Financial Issues under the CP Chairperson, will sum up the results of the meeting of the Working Group in Hanoi on 15 January 2024. Head of the Legal Department Anton Kharevich will make a report on proposals to amend the Rules of Procedure of the JINR Finance Committee and the progress in the development and approval of the List of JINR Officials.

On Friday, 22 March, JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov will open the JINR CP session with a report on the Institute’s scientific results, key projects, and activities in the new seven-year period. Chairperson of the JINR Finance Committee, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Andrey Omelchuk, will deliver a report on the results of the FC meeting. CP JINR members will review and discuss information regarding the JINR budget, proposed amendments to the Rules of the FC JINR Procedure, the progress in the development of the JINR Officials List, and changes in the Rules of the CP Procedure. The programme of the session includes a report by the Institute’s Chief Scientific Secretary Sergey Nedelko on amendments to the Regulation on the elections of Directors and the endorsed appointments of Deputy Directors of the JINR laboratories.

The JINR CP members will engage in a general discussion to summarise the meeting’s results. The session will conclude with the adoption of a resolution.
