Strong ties with JINR Member States: Uzbekistan

JINR Director RAS Academician Grigory Trubnikov has received a personal commendation from President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The commendation has been given for congratulations by the JINR leader on behalf of the entire international team of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the re-election to a new term.

Cooperation between JINR and Uzbekistan, which has lasted all the years of the Institute’s existence since its foundation, is actively expanding now. Last year, JINR signed agreements with the National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Technical University, and Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology. The agreements are aimed at training staff and conducting joint research on nuclear energy and medicine, ecology, nuclear and nanotechnologies, electronics, computer technologies. In the same year, a cloud computer cluster was launched at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan in cooperation with JINR. In May of this year, Uzbekistan hosted a meeting of the Committee on Non-Energy Application of Nuclear Technologies under the Advisory Board of the International Research Centre Based on the MBIR Reactor (IRC MBIR), implemented in Russia, the country of the JINR location, with the Institute’s active participation. In addition, this year, representatives of Uzbekistan took part in the Internship for Young Scientists from the CIS Countries, organized with the support of the Joint Institute.
