The recent RCNP (alpha, alpha’) data on the Isoscalar Giant Monopole Resonance (ISGMR) and Isoscalar Giant Quadrupole Resonance (ISGQR) in 92,94,96,98,100Mo are analyzed within the self-consistent Skyrme Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation approach. The representative set of Skyrme parametrizations (SkM*, SLy6, SVbas and SkPd) is used. We discuss the pairing and deformation impacts as well as the softness of the isotopes. The observed double-bump structure of ISGMR in Mo isotopes with A=94, 96, 98, 100 is explained by the deformation-induced coupling of ISGMR and ISGQR. This means that in deformed nuclei only the simultaneous description of ISGMR and ISGQR is consistent. The main ISGMR peak energy is best described by the force SkP with a low incompressibility K= 202 MeV. So, like in the previous studies for Sn and Cd isotopes, we again meet the problem “Why open-shell nuclei are socompression-soft?” Since ISGMR and ISGQR are sensitive to incompressibility K and isoscalar effective mass m*/m, we discuss a possible relation of these two quantities.
