Аннотация:
Strong fluctuation effects make the perturbative analysis of reaction diffusion particle systems in one and two dimensions pretty useless. In the talk I will explain how the one-dimensional models can be studied by exploiting certain symmetries of the system, solving infinite systems of linear PDE’s and calculating Fredholm determinants. As a byproduct, we will also find out what is the probability that a large real random matrix has no real eigenvalues. This talk is a summary of some of the research Roger Tribe and I have been doing over the last ten years.
