Аннотация:

In this talk, I discuss the intriguing interplay of chiral dynamics and lattice QCD simulations of hadron masses. It is illustrated that the current lattice data set determines a large number of low-energy constants for the flavour SU(3) chiral Lagrangian. The latter can be used in coupled-channel computations as to describe and predict final-state interactions of hadrons. Our analyses predict, in particular, a first-order phase transition in the quark-mass dependence of the baryon ground state masses that can be used to construct a novel dark-matter scenario for the universe.
