Academician Deleg Sangaa receives title of Honoured Scientist of Mongolia

On February 16, 2024, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh presented the highest state titles, awards and medals to outstanding figures who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country. Among the awardees is the leading researcher of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, past Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the JINR Laboratory of Neutron Physics, MAS Academician Professor Deleg Sangaa. He was awarded the title of Honoured Scientist of Mongolia.

A significant part of Professor Sangaa’s scientific career is connected with JINR. For many years, he worked as a researcher in FLNP JINR. In 1993-1998 and 2008-2011, Deleg Sangaa was a Member of the JINR Scientific Council, and in the period from 2009 to 2013 he held the position of FLNP Deputy Director for Science. At present, Professor Sangaa continues to maintain and constantly develop close cooperation with the Institute, since 2015 being a Member of the JINR Program Advisory Committee for Condensed Matter Physics and actively participating in its work.
