The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research announced an international competition design a decorative panel for the rear façade of the Mir Cultural Centre in Dubna. The invitation extends to artists, designers, architects, and any students pursuing relevant academic fields. The competition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of JINR’s establishment.

Concept
The future panel, which will be located on the side of the building adjacent to the Mescheryakov Square, must meet the following requirements:
- Size — 20 × 8 metres;
- The artistic images should reflect the history of the Dubna and JINR creation, as well as symbolise science, education, and culture;
- The design must aesthetically match the Mir Cultural Centre architecture, along with the adjacent Meshcheryakov Square and Volga embankment.
Who can participate
The competition is open to architecture, design, and art specialists, employees of design, architectural, and design studios and bureaus, as well as students of relevant fields from any country in the world. Participation is free.
Three finalists will be announced:
- First place: preferential right to implement the project on the façade of the Mir Cultural Centre. If the author handovers the implementation to a contractor, a reward of 200,000 roubles;
- Second place: a 75 000 rouble reward;
- Third place: a 25 000 rouble reward.
Regardless of the competition results, each participant will receive an honorary diploma and souvenirs from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
Deadline
Applications are invited until 5 July 2026. The results will be summarised no later than 30 September 2026.

- Online: mail a high-resolution file (300 dpi, any graphic format) to usi@jinr.ru (please write “Competition” in the subject line);
- In person / by post: send a coloured sketch on A2–A1 paper to Vysotskogo Alley, bldg 1a, office 8, Dubna, Moscow Region, 141980, Russia.
