Dear colleagues and friends,

Working towards the goal of facilitating the development of science, education, and technology in its Member States, the Joint Institute welcomed representatives of Vietnam scientific centres to discuss cooperation prospects. In turn, a JINR delegation participated in two conferences that have recently taken place in Vietnam.

About 60 students from universities of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan gathered at the Laboratory of Information Technologies at JINR this week to join the Autumn IT School. At the end of the training, the participants will begin working on projects related to JINR’s research.

Cooperation

JINR hosted visit of representatives of Vietnam scientific centres

The delegation visited JINR on 1 October to discuss cooperation in science and technology between Vietnam and JINR as well as to get acquainted with the unique research infrastructure of the Institute.

Conferences

Models in quantum field theory discussed in Saint Petersburg

On 6 October, MQFT-2025 conference, co-organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, opened at Euler International Mathematical Institute. The event gathered about 200 participants from Algeria, China, Finland, India, Russia, Slovakia, Vietnam, and other countries.

Education

Autumn IT School taking place at JINR

This week, the fourth Autumn School of Information Technologies started at MLIT. The event brought together nearly 60 students from universities in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. The main goal of the school is to engage young specialists in solving current scientific problems using modern IT technologies.

New Book Acquisitions exhibition at S&T Library

From 6 to 31 October, the JINR Science and Technology Library is hosting the New Book Acquisitions exhibition. You can find textbooks, monographs, lectures on the atomic nucleus structure, “The Attraction of Science” anthology by Shirmamed Nazarli, and much more.

Explore hidden sounds of NICA’s Booster at exhibition

The Experimental Sound Laboratory organized the ESL: Acoustic Trace exhibition at Dom Radio in collaboration with JINR. Visitors can explore the invisible waves and inaudible sounds that surround us in everyday life and the way technology allows us capture their “acoustic trace”.

Young JINR scientists at conference in Vietnam

Researchers of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, and the Laboratory of Radiation Biology gave talks at the 9th Academic Conference on Natural Science for Young Scientists, Master and PhD Students from the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

JINR researcher awarded medal for neutron studies

An FLNP chief researcher Viktor Aksenov received the medal from the Russian Neutron Scattering Society for outstanding contribution to this field of study. The ceremony took place on 2 October at the Neutron Scattering in Condensed Matter Research international conference.

The JINR Telegram channel shared a new archival photo of the Institute. Take a look at the participants of the 6th International School of Neutron Physics at Dubna Resort Hotel in Alushta. The photo was taken by Yuri Tumanov 35 years ago, on 8 October 1990.
