Great Union Day of Romania

Organization, 01 December 2021

1 December marks the Great Union Day of Romania. This holiday dates back to 1918 when just after World War I, Romanians from Transylvania and Banat voted for the unification with the Romanian Kingdom.

Romania was one of the 11 founding states of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in March 1956. The country has been an active JINR Member State since then playing a considerable role in the Institute’s activities, joint research, and scientific and technological relations.

The Directorate of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research congratulates Romanian colleagues and partners, as well as their family members, on the Great Union Day, and wishes them good health, happiness, prosperity, luck, and new professional successes for the benefit of science and progress!
