Vadim Solovyov was a student of Nikolay Bogoliubov, the founder of the Dubna school of theoretical nuclear physics, the initiator of the creation and the first head of the Scientific Department of Atomic Nucleus Theory at the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at JINR.
At the suggestion of the first BLTP Director, the researcher began to study superfluidity in atomic nuclei. One of Solovyov’s key scientific results was the development of a quasi-particle-phonon model of the nucleus.
