JINR Newsletter #19, 28 May 2025Dear colleagues and friends, Two major international visits took place recently, opening up more prospects for cutting-edge collaborative research. In Japan, a Joint Institute’s delegation, headed by Director Grigory Trubnikov, discussed the development of cooperation in experimental studies and the exchange of expertise. Meetings with Vietnam universities and research centres were devoted to education and personnel training. JINR continues to offer international scientists and specialists a variety of opportunities for professional development. The JEMS-27 training course for Member and Partner States finished with a round table session with participants. Specialists from Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, and Vietnam shared positive feedback on the Institute and the programme. An internship for researchers from the Commonwealth of Independent States started this week. CooperationJINR delegation in JapanThe Institute’s representatives visited the country’s major research centres: KEK (High Energy Accelerator Research Organization) and J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex). During the working meetings, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding collaboration in experimental research and exchanging expertise. In addition, the soft opening of a JINR Information Centre took place at the Institute of Physics of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The JINR booth presented information on the Institute’s main facilities, projects, and educational programmes, along with the results of joint research with partners from Serbia. At the final round table session with the participation of the JINR Directorate, specialists from Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, and Vietnam shared their impressions of the Institute and discussed promising areas of cooperation with its laboratories.
