High state Russian awards for JINR scientists

Subsequent to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 17 November 2022 No. 830 “On presenting state awards of the Russian Federation”, the following JINR scientists were awarded the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, 2nd class for their contribution to science development and longstanding hard work:
- BEDNYAKOV Vadim Alexandrovich, Director of the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems JINR
- KAZAKOV Dmitri Igorevich, Director of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics JINR
- KORENKOV Vladimir Vasilevich, Director of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies JINR
- KHODZHIBAGIYAN Hamlet Georgievich, Deputy Director of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR

The Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” is a state award of the Russian Federation. It was established on 2 March 1994 by Presidential Decree №442. New Regulation for the medal was adopted by Presidential Decree №554 on 1 June 1995.
The Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” is awarded to citizens for fulfillment of particular advantageous for the state tasks in various fields of industry and agriculture, construction and transport, science and education, health care and culture, and other areas of work.
The medal has two degrees: the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the first class and the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the second class.
The motto of the Order is «Benefit, Honour and Glory».
