AYSS seminar at JINR Scientists’ Club

Seminars

On 14 May 2025, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists at JINR invites everyone interested to the next seminar that will take place in the Big Hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6 Joliot-Curie St, left side).

Head of the FLNP Sector of Neutron-Nuclear Interaction Research Nikita Fedorov will deliver a presentation titled “Nuclear data: history, status, and prospects”.

The acquisition and systematisation of nuclear data are the perennial tasks of nuclear physics. Numerous experiments are conducted annually to study nuclear reactions, analyse radioactive decay characteristics, and measure atomic masses. The results are published and entered into databases that nearly every nuclear scientist encounters. How are these databases structured? What is the current situation regarding nuclear data? What are the prospects for the field, and is the IAEA Nuclear Data Section steering its development in the right direction? These questions will be the focus of discussion at the upcoming seminar.
