The JINR Universal Public Library invites visitors over 16 to the “The legacy of capitalist romanticism, what happpened with the post-Soviet architecture?” lecture.

The lecturer is Deputy Director of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), RAS Corresponding Member Alexander Lutovinov.

The lecture will explain why building and launching space observatories is essential to exploring and understanding the universe. The speaker will discuss the fascinating objects and processes that occur in extreme conditions inaccessible to laboratories on Earth: neutron stars and black holes, supernova explosions and their remnants, and the search for dark matter. Special attention will be paid to the development of space observatory technologies and the results of the Spektr-Roentgen-Gamma Observatory, a flagship project of Russian space science.
