Venue: Online conference on Zoom

Seminar topic: “Modern Web Technologies for Data Visualization in HEP”

Speaker: Victor Krylov

Abstract:

Technologies and methods for visualizing experimental data and geometry using a high-level language JavaScript embedded in modern Internet browsers are considered. WebGL v2.0 (Web Graphics Library) written in JavaScript and a cross-platform shader programming language GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language) which runs on a graphics processing unit (GPU) is at the heart of the 3D interactive graphics.

The work was carried out as part of a project to create an Event Display for the MPD (Multi-Purpose Detector), at present under construction, of the NICA (Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility) accelerator complex at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR).
