Seminar topic: “Status of the MEG II experiment to search for the μ+→e+γ decay at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland”

Annotation:
The MEG experiment performed with the world’s most intense muon beam at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland is aimed at searching for the muon decay μ+→e+γ forbidden by the Standard Model. During 2015−2021, the MEG setup was significantly upgraded, and now the experiment moved into the second phase and is called MEG II. In June 2022, the first semi-annual physics data acquisition run began at the modernized MEG II detector.
The report presents the status and immediate prospects of the experiment.
