Events

Seminar of the department “Theory of Fundamental Interactions”

Venue: Blokhintsev Hall (4th floor), Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics; online seminar on Zoom

Seminar topic: “Recent CDF W-boson mass measurement and possible implications”

Speaker: Nikolai Krasnikov (The Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences)

Abstract:

In 2022 CDF collaboration published new result on W-boson mass measurement. The CDF measured W-boson mass is higher the standard model prediction at the level of 7σ. If we believe in CDF result it means the existence of new physics beyond standard model. In this talk I discuss possible implications of the CDF result, in particular, I review several proposed models for an explanation of the CDF result.
