Seminar topic: “Counting rates during collisions of main and satellite bunches on NICA”
Speaker: Anatoly Litvinenko
Abstract:
The counting rate in the collision of heavy ions on the NICA/MPD in the collision of the main bunches (bunch-bunch scattering), in the collision of satellite bunches (satellite-satellite scattering), and in the collision of the main bunch with the satellite (bunch-satellite scattering) is discussed. The distribution of vertices in the interaction area of the MPD setup is given. The main conclusion is that the contribution of satellite-to-satellite scattering, and the contribution of satellite-bunch scattering does not exceed two percent of the bunch-bunch scattering.
