Seminar topic: “LUE-200 accelerator. Status and tasks of the development”

Speaker: Anatoly Sumbaev

Abstract:

The LUE-200 accelerator is a so-called microwave accelerator on a traveling wave of 10 cm range (S band) and was created for the IREN project. The parameters of the accelerator are determined by its intended purpose as an ADS type neutron source driver intended for work in the field of neutron nuclear physics using TOF methods. The main requirement for accelerators of this type is a short pulse with a high average beam power. The message presents the current state of the accelerator and discusses problems with the reliability of its systems that ensure stable operation. Measures are proposed for the development of the accelerator in order to bring its parameters closer to the design ones.
