Neutrinoless double beta decay searches with 76Ge

Seminars

On Monday, 5 September 2016 at 11.00 am in the Conference hall of DLNP a seminar “Neutrinoless double beta decay searches with 76Ge” will be held.

Speaker: Bernhard Schwingenheuer (Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg)

Abstract:

The search for neutrinoless double beta decay might be the only window to observe lepton number violation and is therefore considered to be of highest relevance. The isotope 76Ge has historically been most important for this search and the ongoing experiment GERDA has the lowest background and best energy resolution of all experiments in the field. The talk presents the current GERDA result and the possible future program.
