Seminar of physics sectors

On Friday, 21 October 2016, at 3.30 pm in the Conference hall of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions a seminar “From quark and nucleon correlations to the boundary of nucleon stability in nuclei” will be held.

Speaker: G. Musulmanbekov

Abstract:

Nuclear structure is built within the framework of Strongly Correlated Quark Model (SCQM). Nucleons in a nuclear system are bound due to the interactions of color quarks in neighbor nucleons. These bounds result in formation of crystal-like structures. The base elements in this structure are virtual 3Н, 3He, 4He clusters. This approach allows one to reproduce many features of stable nuclei such as the pairing effect, magic numbers, deformations. Moreover, it predicts (non-)existence of nuclear bound states far from the valley of stability.
