BLTP LABORATORY SEMINAR

On Thursday, 27 October 2016, at 3.30 pm in the Conference Hall of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics a seminar “Return of the Josephson-effect” will be held.

Speaker: T.M. Klapwijk (Kavli Institute of Nanoscience, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands)

Abstract:

Our ability to make nano-devices has enlarged the range of devices, in which the Josephson-effect is observed enormously. Many of the results have underlined the universality of the Josephson-effect. In my talk I will focus on new aspects which have emerged by using weak links made from non-trivial condensed matter systems such as ferromagnets, topological insulators, nanowires and graphene.
