Abstract:

The purpose of the work was the verification of the protons and deuterons polarization control scheme in the NICA collider. The collider is set up to the spin transparency mode by means of two solenoidal snakes which are placed in opposite experimental straight sections. Each snake is divided into two parts, which are symmetrically located around the SPD and MPD detectors. The polarization control is realized by weak solenoids placed around the radial dipoles near the interaction point of the MPD detector. Parameters of the NICA collider lattice in the spin transparency mode was optimized for two cases of snake solenoids placement. In the first case, each half snake is localized in a single free space of experimental section. In the second case, the snake solenoids are distributed along experimental straight sections. The spin-tracking code Zgoubi was used to simulate the proton and deuteron spin dynamics for obtaining of longitudinal and vertical polarization at the detectors.
