61st meeting of PAC for Nuclear Physics

On 19–20 June 2025, the 61st meeting of the Programme Advisory Committee for Nuclear Physics (PAC NP) will take place at the JINR International Conference Centre. The event will feature presentations on research results, the progress of experimental facilities, new projects, and plans for the future.

Chair of the PAC for Nuclear Physics Valery Nesvizhevsky will speak about the implementation of the recommendations of the previous meeting. JINR Vice-Director Sergey Dmitriev will present the Resolution of the 137th Scientific Council session (February 2025) and the decisions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States (March 2025).

Head of the VASILISA Facility Group Andrey Isaev will talk about the progress and plans of experiments to study the physicochemical properties of superheavy elements at FLNR. Head of the FLNP JINR Nuclear Materials Science and Ion Implantation Nanotechnology Sector Aleksandr Doroshkevich will give a talk on the progress of the modernisation of the EG-5 Accelerator and its experimental infrastructure.

Head of the FLNP JINR Sector for the Research on the Fundamental Properties of Neutrons German Kulin and DLNP Chief Engineer will suggest new projects. A scientific presentation by a BLTP leading researcher Timur Shneidman will be devoted to the achievements in the description of spontaneous fission of transfermium nuclei. An FLNR senior researcher Aidos Azhibekov will talk about nucleon and cluster transfer in reactions with the 9Be nucleus. Young BLTP and MLIT JINR scientists will make poster presentations on research topics in nuclear physics.

At the end of the event, on 20 June, the committee’s members will prepare the PAC recommendations and proposals regarding the next meeting’s agenda.
