News, 19 June 2025
On 23 June 2025, the 62nd meeting of the JINR Programme Advisory Committee for Particle Physics will take place at the JINR International Conference Centre. The committee members will discuss the implementation of the Institute’s internal and external projects in high energy physics.
Programme of the 62nd PAC PP meeting
Committee’s Chair Itzhak Tserruya will open the meeting with a talk on the implementation of the recommendations of the previous PAC meeting. JINR Vice-Director Vladimir Kekelidze will present information on the Resolution of the 137th session of the JINR Scientific Council (February 2025) and the decisions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Members States (March 2025).
The PAC members will hear talks about the implementation of the ongoing projects at the NICA Accelerator Complex: Nuclotron–NICA (Anatoly Sidorin, VBLHEP), the MPD (Victor Ryabov, VBLHEP), and the SPD (Alexey Guskov, DLNP). Mikhail Kapishin (VBLHEP) will announce the results of a xenon ion beam run in the BM@N Experiment.
Reports on projects finishing in 2025 and proposals for their prolongation will be reviewed: Yuri Davydov (DLNP) will talk about the development of the physics programme and detectors for the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC, China). Boris Batyunya (VBLHEP), Ivan Yeletskikh (DLNP), and Vladimir Karjavine (VBLHEP) will discuss the Institute’s participation in the ALICE, ATLAS, and CMS Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider.
Young researchers will make presentations on particle physics studies. At the end of the meeting’s scientific programme, Andrej Arbuzov (BLTP) will give a talk entitled “Theoretical сalculations for future electron-positron colliders: status and prospects”.
The presentations will be followed by a general discussion. The PAC members will meet with the JINR Directorate. The event will finish with holding a session to adopt the recommendations of the Committee and make proposals for the agenda of the next meeting.
