Date and Time: Thursday, 8 October 2020, at 11:00 AM

Venue: Online conference in Zoom

Seminar topic: “Sanger sequencing and analysis of its results”

Speaker: A. N. Rusakovich

Abstract:

Sequencing is a molecular biology technique that estimates amino acid or nucleotide sequence of biopolymers (proteins / nucleic acids). DNA analysis is one of the key ways to study molecular biology and genetics. Sanger sequencing is a type of such analysis.

During the seminar, the basic principle of Sanger sequencing will be explained, as well as some problems of analyzing its results. The idea of developing new software will be proposed, which will increase the speed and accuracy of transforming the initial “raw” data into a sequence, using both basic algorithms and machine learning.
