Seminar topic: «Charmonium production in antiproton-nucleus interactions»

Speaker: Alexey Larionov (Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany)

Abstract:

Interaction cross sections of charmonia (J/Ψ, Ψ’, Xс) with nucleons would allow to test their underlying quark structures. Moreover, the knowledge of the charmonium-nucleon dissociation (or absorption) cross-sections is an important ingredient for studies of charmonium suppression in a quark-gluon plasma. The best opportunity to study interactions of slow charmonium states in nuclear medium is the pр → charmonim formation process. In this talk, the generalized eikonal approximation (GEA) approach is presented and applied to the incoherent charmonium production processes on the nucleus. Predictions for PANDA experiment at FAIR are given.
