Seminar topic: «Elliptic, hyperbolic, complex gamma functions and physics in various dimensions»

Speaker: Gor Sarkissian

Abstract:

Elliptic, hyperbolic, and complex gamma functions are related by some limiting procedures. This gives rise to simple and convenient way to reduce various relations for the elliptic gamma functions to the corresponding relations for the hyperbolic and complex gamma functions. It is curious, that these limiting procedures have also physical counterparts, as transitions from some theories residing in 4D/3D to some theories residing in lower dimensions. The talk is devoted to the physical and mathematical aspects of these limiting procedures.
