Abstract:

Ogievetsky’s theorem shows the connection between the conformal and affine groups and the coordinate transformation group. This connection was studied in paper [A.B. Borisov, V.I. Ogievetsky, Teor.Mat.Fiz. 21 (1974) 329-342], where it was shown that a simultaneous realization of these groups leads to the general theory of relativity. We investigated an opportunity to use Ogievetsky’s theorem together with nonlinear realization technique to construct alternative theories of gravity. We present models found in [Arbuzov, Latosh, Universe 6 (2020) 1, 12; ArXiV: 1904.06516], discuss their relationship with scalar-tensor models of gravity, and the potential role of nonlinear symmetry realization technique in the context of the theory of gravity.
