On 17 August 2025, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Pavel Kadochnikov visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The programme included meetings with JINR’s Directorate and excursions to the sites of the VBLHEP and FLNR flagship projects.

At the Superheavy Element Factory of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, JINR Vice-Director, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Dmitriev informed the Deputy Minister about the Institute’s scientific programme on the synthesis of superheavy elements, and the laboratory’s Scientific Leader, Academician Yuri Oganessian conducted a tour of the memorial office of the first FLNR Director Georgy N. Flerov.

In the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics, Pavel Kadochnikov visited the NICA Accelerator Complex, including the Synchrophasotron building, the collider tunnel, and the MPD Detector hall. The Deputy Minister was informed about the progress of works on Run 1, including the first physics run of the collider, by the Vice-Director of the Institute, Academician Vladimir Kekelidze and VBLHEP Deputy Director Andrey Butenko.

During a working meeting with JINR Director, Academician Grigory Trubnikov, Pavel Kadochnikov discussed issues related to the participation of the Russian Federation as the country JINR is based in and the most active partner in the implementation of the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2024-2030, in particular, the further development of JINR’s social and research infrastructure.
